ICM
The India Christian Mission began its ministry in Eluru, establishing approximately 180 congregations, along with 52 schools and health centers across the Krishna and West Godavari revenue districts. Eluru was designated as the headquarters for the entire mission, overseeing its work both in India and abroad.

The India Christian Mission (ICM) Church - A Journey of Faith and Growth
The India Christian Mission (ICM) in Eluru began as an autonomous, independent mission and was organized as a Church following the Anglican Orthodox tradition. It obtained Apostolic Succession through the Communion of Evangelical Episcopal Churches, USA. In 2000, Most Rev. Dr. Nakka Victor Amrutha Rao became the first bishop of the Church in India, marking a significant milestone in the mission's history. The ICM continues to thrive in North India, Sri Lanka, and beyond, retaining its identity as the India Christian Mission.
Leadership Under Most Rev. Dr. John SDR Nakka
Most Rev. Dr. John SDR Nakka, a former priest under the Royal Priesthood of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, returned to his mother church and assumed leadership. He is now the Primate of the ICM Church-at-Large and the Director of India Christian Mission in various parts of the world.
Global Growth and Mission Expansion
The ICM Church-at-Large has grown into an organized body with dioceses in Krishna Godavari, Punjab, Tripura, West Bengal, and the US/Canada, with four bishops overseeing its expansion.
ICM has established mission centers in Hyderabad, Uttarakhand, and East Africa. The Church also has a province in Sri Lanka, led by an Archdeacon.

Affiliations and Recognition
ICM is a bonafide founding member of the Andhra Pradesh Council of Churches, a regional council of the National Council of Churches in India.
Most Rev. Dr. John SDR Nakka has represented the ICM at various international, national, and state-level programs, conferences, and seminars, including the XXVIII Quadrennial Assembly of the National Council of Churches in India, held in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, North India.
Leadership Role in the State
Most Rev. Dr. Nakka serves as the President of the Andhra Pradesh Council of Churches, an apex body representing Protestant and Orthodox Churches in the state of Andhra Pradesh. He is also the Vice President of the Andhra Pradesh Federation of Churches, comprising RC and non-RC heads of churches across the state.
Global Communion
Today, the ICM Church is in full communion with the Anglican Orthodox Church Worldwide Communion, joining with global partners in the pursuit of God’s mission on Earth.
