The Reformation

The India Christian Mission Church is an integral part of the One, Holy, Catholic (Universal), and Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ, faithfully upholding the Anglican Orthodox tradition. It was established in 1897 by the late lamented Rev. Arthur Stephen Paynter, with the support of Rev. William Henry Greet, both priests from Bicester Parish, Oxfordshire, England, of the Church of England.

In the year 2000, under the visionary leadership of The Most Rev. Dr. Victor Ameutha Rao Nakka, the church underwent a reformation and became autocephalous (self-governing), while preserving its rich heritage and apostolic foundations.

The India Christian Mission Church holds valid Apostolic Succession, tracing its lineage through the Petrine (Roman Catholic), Anglican, and Eastern Orthodox traditions, ensuring the continuity of the sacred ministry and the unbroken transmission of Christ’s authority.
